I'm back.

Printer Addict.

I'm finally moved and all settled in. I found a handful of old drawings during the unpacking - so I thought if would be fun to put those on here. I hope you all enjoy them. Hard to believe that they were done so long ago. I had to buy some black paper and a new dragon art book. LOL I burned through the last one and this one looks pretty cool for some new ideas. I hope to get a new dragon up on here soon.

Companionship

Printer Addict.

Soooo.... I'm going to be moving very soon. And, I had to pack up my printer :(. I know, why am I still using my laptop and not my printer ... well, it's a long story that boils down to not being able to fly with it and having to pack everything else.

I refused to do it until I uploaded Companionship, though. I sat here drawing furiously and nearly running out of time  Oh well. It is on here and I'll probably upload a more fussed with version later.

Anyhoo, not going to be scanning and uploading anything for a little while (couple weeks - which is long for me), but I'm going to keep drawing, of course. I will probably sit down and upload a lot at the end of it.

Thanks to everyone who is visiting! Thank you watchers and favourite voters!

The Heroic Journey

Journal Entry: Sun Feb 10, 2008, 5:33 AM
I've been reading Practical Greek Magic by Murray Hope. I have a used copy I bought of a book from the 1980's lol. Anyway, It is a very beautiful book that has given me a lot to think about. I have a lot of challenges and changes happening in my life right now. Drawing is helping me so much to get through it all because it gives me a place to put some of these emotions.

Anyway, the book talks about the mythology and legends of ancient Greece in a way that the symbols may apply to modern life. It does not teach how to cast vengeful spells on people, but rather how to become a better person by being inspired by the heroic journeys of old.

I find it interesting that I have been moved to draw dragons so much lately as well as elemental spirits and whatnot. In the old tales, it is always the hero that must face it's monsters and some creatures turn out not to be monsters at all, but guardians in disguise. It is also worth remembering that those heroes were also given tools/weapons/armour that was blessed by the Gods and allowed them to be victorious. Yes, it is true that there were also stories of tragedy and that is life. I, for one, am going to do my best to use the tools given me and trudge ahead and fight for a better life. That is all I can do each day. And I am thankful that I have my drawing to fuel my soul.

Oh no you've been tagged

Journal Entry: Sun Feb 3, 2008, 6:39 AM
The rules:
The 1st player of this "game" starts with the topic "6 weird habits/things/hates about yourself" and people who gets tagged MUST write a journal about their 6 weird habits/things/hates as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" in their devpage comments and tell them to read yours...

1. I'm a newbie at this journal thing, so please bear with me.

2. I eat two french fries of equal length at the same time.

3. I don't have enough bookmarks for all the books I'm trying to read at once.

4. I collect old calendars, always thinking that some day I will buy picture frames for the art.

5. I've been known to do this *sigh* gesture of disgust and frustration as I throw my hand out to the side.

6. I hate sweet potatoes. Sorry, sweet potatoe fans - but, more for you.

Hmmm, who to tag. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to do this LOL.
